What is a CADC?

A Certified Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor is a certification issued by the Illinois Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Professional Certification Association, Inc. The certification requires 225 hours of substance abuse and dependence education, 4000 hours of work experience in the field of substance abuse and dependence, 150 hours of professional supervision, and passing an exam given by the Association. Every two years the Association requires a CADC to complete 40 hours of continuing education related to substance abuse and dependence.
